INSECURE

Height 29cm, Width 29cm, Weight 12.5kg. Hand fabricated iron and steel.

ABOUT

Six individually crafted figures stand in a circle on a steel base.  We associate iron and steel with strength and industrial weight yet this piece presents a paradox.  While the material conveys strength, the stance lacks certainty. Each figure bows forward with elongated limbs lowered heads and an outwardly pitched body, all physically expressing doubt.

PROCESS

Hand fabricating a form from iron and steel.

Finalising the figures dimensions.

Repeating the process for all of the forms. 

Correcting the placement on the base before welding.

Welding each figure to the base.
